Dr.
Leslie's entire career is marked by his drive to help, educate and
mentor those around him. The Leslie's had no children of their own
but Dr. Leslie, was known to hundreds as Uncle Bob, an endearment
he encouraged. His success as a people person comes from his motto
"to serve." In 1986, in an interview in American Way magazine he
summed up his philosophy of life.

"If you're
getting an income from a pension or social security, you can't
sit...at home, it's no good. You have to give of yourself. When
you give of yourself there's no question of retirement because
you are making a contribution, mental, physical, in some way.
My whole existence depends on my contribution."
