Georges Wilmet was born in Belgium and was educated
in Brussels and Paris. He first came to the US in 1919 but didn't
settle here until 1929. He was art director for two advertising
firms before starting his own in 1933. In 1935, his firm merged
with DeVauchier and Blow. He was a member of the Society of Designers
for Industry in New York City. He was president of this firm until
1940 when he purchased it and changed the name to Georges Wilmet,
Inc. His clients included American Safety Razor, Bristol Meyers
Co., Standard Brands and several others.
