Francis
Brennan worked for Dr. M. F. Agha at Condé Nast and in January 1938
he was appointed art director of Fortune magazine, a position he held
until 1942. Under his directorship such artists as Hans J. Barschel,
Tom Benrimo. Herbert Bayer, Otto Hagel, George Giusti and Fernand
Leger were commissioned as cover artists and designers.
